PETER MIKIC

ICON OF TODAY

Australian-born designer Peter Mikic leads his London studio with a flamboyant, fashion-infused eye. Moving from fashion to interiors in the early 2000s, he has honed a maximalist, theatrical language rooted in personal storytelling. Projects like Keepers Farm in Oxfordshire, alive with colour, mid-century lines and expressive art, show his knack for rooms that feel joyful, layered and genuinely lived in.

Mikic designs the way a couturier cuts cloth: proportion first, then drape, then detail. Palettes are confident, finishes seductive, and bespoke pieces carry a playful precision. He collaborates closely with craftspeople in lacquer, metal and textiles to give each space its own rhythm.

At WOW!house 2025, he staged a room that distilled his signature: saturated colour and high gloss balanced with tactile calm; witty juxtapositions that made you smile; couture-level detailing that rewarded a second look. It felt cinematic yet inviting, proof that glamour can be generous.

What defines Peter Mikic is permission: to delight, to surprise, to turn a house into a story you want to stay inside. His interiors do not seek approval; they set the mood, and they stay with you.
