The Wedding Privé Arrives in Rome: A New Era of Elevated Wedding Experiences

Rome has long been synonymous with romance, history, and timeless beauty, making it the perfect setting for the debut of The Wedding Privé, a concept redefining luxury celebrations through a considered, design-led approach to space, architecture, and experience.

Bilen, Editor-in-Chief of OLISE Magazine, was invited to Rome to experience the launch firsthand, joining an international collective of planners, creatives, and media for an immersive two-day programme that introduced a new way of thinking about weddings through the lens of design, culture, and environment.

At the centre of The Wedding Privé is its Founder, Laura Somma, an Italian luxury wedding strategist whose vision is rooted in storytelling, cultural understanding, and emotional depth. With decades of experience across international and multicultural celebrations, she has created a platform where weddings are approached not as standalone events, but as layered, meaningful journeys.

As Laura shares, “The Wedding Privé is the first global luxury wedding collective of its kind, bringing together the world’s leading planners to redefine the future of culturally intelligent, design-led celebrations.”

Founded by Laura Somma and supported by two Vice Presidents, The Wedding Privé brings together a global collective of over 20 professionals, a mixture of associates and founding members across multiple continents, redefining the future of multi-destination luxury weddings.

Together, they represent a new era of globally connected, culturally intelligent, and seamlessly curated celebrations, reflecting the growing demand for weddings that move beyond a single destination and unfold as immersive experiences across the world.

The launch of The Wedding Privé signals a new benchmark for the luxury wedding industry, bringing together an international collective of planners under one globally connected platform for multi-destination celebrations.

From the moment of arrival in Rome, this philosophy was evident. Guests were hosted across some of the city’s most distinguished properties, including The St. Regis Rome, Anantara Palazzo Naiadi, and Palazzo Velabro, each selected for its architectural significance and sense of place.

Every venue had been carefully chosen not simply for its beauty, but for its ability to tell a story. Each space was approached as a study in interiors and architectural storytelling, where atmosphere and spatial flow shaped the experience.

The programme unfolded as a curated journey through Rome’s most evocative settings, from historic villas overlooking the city to refined residences and panoramic terraces, each revealing a different layer of Rome’s architectural identity.

This continued at Anantara Palazzo Naiadi, where a Roman-style lunch brought together flavours and conversation within a setting that reflects both history and modern refinement.

The experience culminated at Castello di Tor Crescenza, a medieval castle just outside Rome, where The Wedding Privé Premiere Gala unfolded in spectacular form. The evening was a true expression of The Wedding Privé’s philosophy, where every detail was carefully considered and every collaborator intentionally selected.

Floral design by Andrea Patrizi brought sculptural elegance to the historic setting, enhancing the architecture with a refined and intentional touch. The culinary experience by California Catering added another layer of sophistication, balancing tradition with contemporary presentation.

Production by Art&Event transformed the space through light and sound, creating atmosphere, depth, and a seamless flow throughout the evening, while fireworks by La Pirotecnica introduced a dramatic celebratory dimension to the night.

Rome marks the inaugural chapter of what is set to become an international series of destination-led experiences and collaborations.

The Wedding Privé ultimately introduces a new perspective on luxury weddings, one that prioritises authenticity, balances modernity and heritage, and places thoughtful curation at the heart of every celebration. Discover more at www.theweddingprive.com and follow @theweddingprive.
