The Marcus Townhouse: A Refined Curation of Space and Time
PROJECTS 20.04.25
For over five decades, Marcus Margulies has been a singular force in the world of fine watches. Known for his deep knowledge, bold taste, and unwavering dedication to quality, he has long stood apart in an increasingly corporate industry. Now, behind the historic façade of a listed townhouse in a quiet corner of Berkeley Square, Marcus has brought a personal dream to life. In collaboration with global design firm March and White Design (MAWD), he has created the Marcus Townhouse—an exclusive, by-invitation-only retail space conceived as an immersive and deeply personal experience for collectors and connoisseurs.

The experience begins in a heritage reception room, where bespoke display cabinets offer a subtle preview of what lies ahead, replacing the traditional lobby entrance. This room exemplifies a refined blend of classical architecture and contemporary design with intricate mouldings, a statement fireplace, and an ornate chandelier. Furniture throughout the townhouse, crafted by Promemoria, reflects the project's emphasis on craft and detail.

Guests then step through a sculptural metal portal into the Curator’s Gallery—a controlled, contemplative space spotlighting a selection of treasured items.

A concealed doorway opens onto an indoor courtyard where Moroccan patterns and rustic materials soften the transition to nature under a dramatic skylight.
Further into the townhouse, the experience continues with a custom lift inspired by superyacht design, leading to a sequence of distinctive rooms. These include a Collector’s Room, a private library, a screening room, and a discreet dining area. Hidden behind black reeded glass, the kitchen—catered by The Ledbury—adjoins a refined chef’s table setting.

A secret passage unveils the original wine cellar, meticulously restored to preserve optimal conditions for a rare collection.
