Revealing Thorp Design’s Stunning Project in the Bahamas

PROJECTS 15.10.24

With a destination like Baker’s Bay in the Bahamas, it is no surprise that the outdoor design was as important if not more so than the inside. The outdoor architecture uses the sunlight as its guide, creating spectacular terraces with the playful sun rays creating patterns on the patios and corridors.

Balconies and walkways allow sun to stream through however they do not dominate allowing the beams and rays to be part of the design aesthetic and playfully transform as the globe rotates.

Neutral tones and natural fabrics are used throughout, from the exterior to the interior, soft greys, creams and subtle textures are complemented by light woods and concrete finishes. The neutral palette gives centre stage to the azure ocean and luscious greenery that surrounds the property.

Sun drenched bedrooms have white wooden panel ceilings, keeping the interiors bright and  airy whilst giving a nod to the nautical theme.

Bespoke joinery is used artfully throughout the home, from bespoke bunk beds to hallway displays and shelving.

White-washed beams bring interest to the ceiling and mount the lighting beautifully. The symmetry from the table lamps, wall mirrors and occasional chairs bring elegance to the living room whilst the textured wall coverings reflect the light, creating a tranquil atmosphere.

The stone fire pit lounge is elegant and sophisticated and the outdoor pool speaks for itself. Mesmerising.
