Parkside Residence by Maddux Creative

PROJECTS 01.07.25

Tucked beside one of London’s most treasured parks, the Parkside Residence is a calm blend of contemporary and modern living. Designed by Maddux Creative, the home reflects a thoughtful approach to interiors, where colour, texture, and vintage elements are layered with care. Each room holds its own mood, but nothing feels out of place.

The dining room centres around a striking Tobi-Ishi table by B&B Italia. Its sculptural base and clean surface bring weight to the space without feeling heavy. Around it are 1980s-style chairs, their dark wood frames contrasting with soft buff leather. While the pendant light above the table, found at Via Antica in Brussels, acts as a sculptural feature. During the day, its form stands out against the natural light; by night, it gives off a soft, even glow.

One of the most distinctive elements in the room is the cylindrical tiled column. Once purely structural, it’s now wrapped in volcanic ash-glazed tiles by Dzek, designed with Formafantasma. The surface catches the light subtly, offering texture against the lightness of the sheer curtains that line the windows—custom-made by Maddux Creative and inspired by a decorative element designed for one of the studio’s early projects in Holland Park.

In the living space, the design feels quietly layered. A vintage Austrian sideboard with warm wood and a pink-veined marble top sits against moody green walls. Above it, a Roy Lichtenstein lithograph creates a direct but not overpowering contrast.

A vintage lamp from Atomic Antiques in Shoreditch brings warmth and a tactile element, reminding us that good lighting does more than illuminate, it shapes the room. A curved, dusty-rose sectional anchors the living room—a bespoke piece custom-made by Maddux Creative—set against layered linen curtains and bold abstract panels that add colour and texture to the softly lit space.

The master bedroom is soft and muted, designed to feel relaxed without being plain. The walls are lined with grasscloth, giving the space depth and texture. Blush-toned sheers filter daylight gently, while a peach-tinted mirror reflects light and adds a subtle note of colour.

Tones of green and pink run through the room, but in restrained, natural shades. Nothing feels overly polished. Instead, the materials, linen, wood, and fabric, do the work of bringing the space to life.

The two bathrooms in Parkside Residence reflect contrasting moods, one bold and decorative, the other minimal and calm. The first showcases rich reds, terrazzo, and playful flair with the Maddux Creative-designed fringed stool, creating a warm, expressive atmosphere. The second embraces a quieter palette with clean lines and soft finishes, designed for relaxation. Together, they show how thoughtful design can adapt to different daily rituals while remaining cohesive.

Maddux Creative brings together modern furniture, vintage pieces, and quiet colour choices to create interiors that feel both lived-in and refined. The result is a home that feels complete, yet leaves space for everyday life to unfold. Now, the studio’s distinct language is set to take on a new dimension with Maison by Maddux Creative – an upcoming collection from Jo and Scott, born from the studio’s most recognisable interiors.
