The Chelsea Penthouse, designed by Naomi Astley Clarke, is a dazzling example of high-end interior design where luxurious materials, playful creativity, and family comfort harmoniously blend. This duplex apartment, situated in the heart of Chelsea, London, offers expansive views of the city skyline. Naomi worked closely with the client's architect and structural engineer to perfect the layout, optimizing natural light and creating fluid, open-plan spaces ideal for entertaining. The interiors are brought to life with a dramatic mirrored staircase, sophisticated material palettes, and exquisite bespoke details that reflect both glamour and warmth. Each space within the penthouse is a visual narrative of texture, light, and design mastery, capturing the essence of contemporary luxury.
The walls are painted a soft neutral tone, providing a calm backdrop that highlights the vivid accent features: a large, plush curved sofa upholstered in a rich, velvety fabric, and a statement coffee table with a faceted marble base. The floors are a warm, lightly stained parquet, adding a tactile counterpoint to the reflective surfaces. A series of sculptural, oversized vases in high-gloss finishes sit atop a sideboard, adding height and drama. There’s a playful mix of geometric forms and organic shapes, with each element thoughtfully placed to contribute to a sense of curated comfort.
The showstopping kitchen’s sculptural island with ribbed stone detailing commands attention, complemented by a high-gloss, mirror-backed display of cocktail ware. Above, a stunning gold-toned chandelier adds warmth and elegance. The cabinetry is finished in a deep, rich wood grain, contrasting beautifully with the cool marble surfaces. A gold leaf ceiling combined with the ambient lighting highlights the textures, giving the space a sense of depth and luxury.
The hidden bar, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling glass wine cabinets, each showcasing an impressive collection of bottles. The bar table, finished in a luxurious gold tone, rich blue tones define the cabinetry and shelving, adding depth and contrast to the luminous gold elements.
Throughout the Penthouse, stunning wall coverings are created to reflect the family's unique style and spirit. In a vibrant powder room, a bold, large-scale jungle mural sets a lively, artistic tone, whilst the children's bathroom features whimsical, hand-painted designs that evoke a sense of adventure and storytelling. We love the attention given to the family dog, not only does it have its own mural but its own little den too!
