Inside Christopher Farr Cloth’s London Design Field Trip 2026
EVENTS
An intimate celebration of British craftsmanship, art and design, bringing together international designers and some of the industry’s most influential creative minds.

This September, Christopher Farr Cloth welcomed a group of American designers to London for an extraordinary six day journey celebrating the very best of British art, craftsmanship and interiors.
Taking place from 20th to 25th September 2026, the London Design Field Trip offered an exclusive programme of private tours, creative workshops and intimate gatherings, providing rare access to some of the capital’s most celebrated institutions, historic homes and creative personalities.

From the grandeur of Spencer House and Buckingham Palace to behind the scenes visits at Christie’s, Lock & Co. Hatters and IVO Print House, the experience explored the rich heritage and exceptional craftsmanship that continue to shape British design.

The programme also celebrated contemporary creativity, with memorable encounters with leading figures including Kit Kemp, Luke Edward Hall, Jane Churchill, Lucile Lewin and Natalia Miyar. Guests were invited into private homes, studios and beautifully designed spaces, offering a more personal perspective on the creative journeys behind their work.
An Intimate Conversation with Georgie Hopton
Among the highlights was a private lunch at the extraordinary Bloomsbury home of acclaimed artists Georgie Hopton and Gary Hume.

Surrounded by an eclectic collection of artwork, expressive colour and beautifully layered interiors, guests enjoyed an intimate conversation with Georgie, moderated by Bilen Zeremariam, Editor in Chief of OLISE Magazine.

The discussion explored Georgie’s artistic career, creative evolution and the experiences that have shaped her work, offering the visiting designers a rare opportunity to connect with the artist in her own home.

It was a wonderful reminder of the relationship between art and interiors, and how the most compelling spaces often reflect the personalities and stories of those who inhabit them.

Celebrating Creativity and Connection
The week concluded with a creative lampshade painting workshop led by artist Alvaro Picardo, followed by a private tour and lunch with Kit Kemp at Firmdale’s Ham Yard Hotel.
More than a design tour, Christopher Farr Cloth’s London Design Field Trip was a celebration of creative exchange, bringing together designers, artists and craftspeople through meaningful experiences and shared inspiration.

For OLISE, it was a pleasure to be part of a programme that champions the importance of craftsmanship, storytelling and connection within the design industry.
A beautiful reminder that great design is not simply about what we create, but the people, places and stories that inspire us.
