Ina Rinderknecht's Coastal Vision for Rixos Hotel Premium Dubrovnik
PROJECTS 09.01.25
Perched along the rugged Adriatic coastline, the Rixos Hotel Premium Dubrovnik has undergone a breathtaking transformation led by renowned interior architect Ina Rinderknecht. The renovation seamlessly marries the grandeur of modern luxury with the charm of Dubrovnik, creating a sanctuary that celebrates both heritage and innovation.

Rinderknecht’s design draws from the natural beauty of Dubrovnik’s coastal environment. The color scheme is a harmonious blend of seashell white, sandy beige, Adriatic blues, goldfish yellow, and seaweed greens. These hues evoke the serenity of the shoreline while infusing the interiors with vibrant energy. Layered with sumptuous materials such as velvet, leather, and textured stone, the palette enhances the hotel’s contemporary yet timeless ambiance.
The lobby features bespoke elements that reflect the city’s iconic stone streets and medieval arches. Three custom-designed gold reception desks, with their rippled, multidimensional surfaces, anchor the space. These are paired with striking chandeliers in gold and white that cast a soft glow, reminiscent of sunlight filtering through historic archways.

Throughout the hotel, luxury is expressed with subtle elegance. The indoor and outdoor pools are standout features, with the outdoor pool showcasing a mesmerizing blue-and-white zigzag mosaic pattern. Framed by a rich hardwood deck, it becomes a visual centerpiece, connecting the hotel's architecture to its natural surroundings. The spa, a 2,000-square-meter oasis, is anchored by a serene tea lounge and concept store. It offers not only state-of-the-art treatments but also a tranquil environment bathed in natural tones and soft lighting.

The beachfront Fish Restaurant and the Umi Teppanyaki venue embrace sleek modernity, with furnishings and lighting that mirror the colors and textures of the Adriatic.
Ina Rinderknecht’s refurbishment of the Rixos Hotel Premium Dubrovnik is a masterclass in contextual design. By embedding the essence of Dubrovnik’s culture, history, and natural beauty into every corner of the property, she has crafted a destination that feels both rooted in its locale and aspirational in its global appeal. Guests are invited to experience not just a stay, but a journey—an ode to the Adriatic coast, brought to life through the lens of a visionary designer.
