Humbert & Poyet Unveils The New Beefbar New York
PROJECTS 09.01.24
With an air of cinematic drama, the interior design and architecture agency Humbert & Poyet has crafted the striking décor of the new Beefbar restaurant in New York. Reflecting the grandeur of this cosmopolitan city, every detail exudes elegance and boldness.

Situated on a corner in Tribeca, one of Manhattan's most fashionable neighborhoods, the establishment is housed in a building showcasing Art Deco influences, developed by the Tribeca Hospitality Group. Spanning 600m², Emil Humbert and Christophe Poyet bring their mastery of volume, light, and eclectic material combinations to the forefront.
Boasting soaring ceilings and towering arched windows framed with garnet marble, the first room is simply magnificent. The lower walls are dressed in textured cladding panels in a soft pink-brown tone, adorned with delicate geometric patterns punctuated by brass cabochons. Above, a plaster bas-relief featuring stylized botanical motifs adds artistic depth. The parquet flooring offers a contemporary take on a historic design, while the coffered ceiling nods to the industrial heritage of Tribeca with its dark tones, offset by pale cornices painted with delicate floral accents.

The restaurant is brought to life through Verde Alpi marble tables, plush bench seating wrapped in coordinated velvet, and dining chairs upholstered in luxurious Pierre Frey fabrics. Adding a warm glow to the ambiance are bronze and alabaster sconces. Antique mirrors reflect the cosmopolitan allure of the Café Society of the 1930s, transporting guests to a bygone era of glamour and style. Framed in striking fluted red and white marble, the open kitchen and meat display cabinet extend into the dining space, emphasizing conviviality and connection.
Surmounted by a canopy and reflective ceiling, the bar is equally spectacular. Its garnet marble cladding, accentuated with brass rails, creates a dynamic dialogue with the terrazzo floor below. Bathed in an amber glow, the designers envisioned a warm and seductive speakeasy atmosphere. Delicate materials enhance the mood, with leather stretched across the walls and seats upholstered in Rocher fabric from Humbert & Poyet’s Villa Riviera collection for Nobilis. With its long counter and high stools, the bar offers an inviting space for an unforgettable lunch or dinner experience.

The adjoining private dining room with deliberately low ceilings creates an intimate, hushed setting. A vibrant carpet covers the floor, while colourful Murano glass sconces, sourced in Milan, cast a delicate glow over textured wallpaper. Amid the bustling energy of New York City, the room provides a suspended moment to savour the restaurant's gastronomic delights.

Humbert & Poyet's latest creation is a tribute to timeless elegance, celebrating both the vibrancy of Manhattan and the rich traditions of fine dining. Beefbar New York stands as an immersive journey where design and gastronomy converge, leaving a lasting impression on all who visit.
