HANA GETACHEW
ICON OF TOMORROW
Hana Getachew founded Bolé Road Textiles to connect home and heritage. Born in Ethiopia and raised in New York, she brings an interior designer’s eye to handwoven textiles created with artisan collectives across Ethiopia. The result is work that feels modern and rooted at once: graphic pattern, joyful colour, and a tactile honesty you want to live with.

Every collection begins with memory and place. Motifs echo traditional weaving, palettes draw from Ethiopian light and landscape, and each piece is made with care using local cotton and time-honorued techniques. Pillows, throws, runners, and rugs arrive with a story and a softness that grows with use.

What defines Bole Road is integrity. Design is edited and considered, production is transparent and fair, and the impact is shared between maker and home. Getachew shows how craft can be contemporary and how a textile can carry culture into everyday life.
