Furnishing Futures, The Atrium Edit by OLISE Editor in Chief Bilen Zeremariam

OLISE Editor in Chief Bilen Zeremariam has curated a special edit for Furnishing Futures at The Atrium, bringing together furniture, art and objects that celebrate craftsmanship, creativity and design with purpose.
Craftsmanship has always been central to Bilen’s approach to interiors. For The Atrium Edit, she wanted to create a collection that felt layered and personal, bringing together established design houses, independent makers, artists and antique pieces. Every object was selected not simply for how it looks, but for the skill, story and creative perspective behind it.
What makes the collection particularly special is the generosity of the people and brands who donated their work.
Holmes Bespoke London contributed The Chevron Rug, while Twisted Eye donated The Colpop Sofa Table with Shelf. Gingerlily brought beautiful textile craftsmanship to the edit with the Lily of the Valley Silk Eiderdown, alongside furniture from Eichholtz and Julian Chichester, and a Queen Anne Wingback upholstered in Designers Guild velvet. The collection also includes a velvet accent chair from M&S and an Antique Chinese Ming Style Cabinet, creating the mix of old and new that is so integral to Bilen’s interiors.
Art and independent making play an equally important role. Nikki Heaton contributed Form 01, Omar Obaid and Abstract House donated Precious Time III, Rachel Karasik contributed Lightweight III, Mojjere donated the Wuro Decorative Plate, Sally Barr contributed The Grand Palace, PJ Kemp Art donated The Gentle Hour, Shizico Yi contributed Foxgloves from the Summer Bloom Series, and Tracey Paterson donated The Shapes and Contrasts. Lish Ceramics by Lily Staunton Howe also contributed a set of green and white stacking bowls, introducing another layer of handmade craft to the collection.
Ransom Sutton, Design By Ransom, contributed three pieces from the Vignette collection, a side table, floor lamp and chair, giving the edit a strong representation of contemporary furniture design and making.
For Bilen, bringing these different creative voices together was an important part of the project. The edit is as much about celebrating the designers, artists, makers and brands behind each piece as it is about creating a beautiful collection. Their generosity demonstrates what can happen when the interior community comes together around a shared purpose.
All proceeds from every piece sold go directly to Furnishing Futures, supporting its work creating healing homes for survivors of domestic abuse.
A home can represent so much more than good design, it can provide safety, comfort, dignity and a sense of belonging. The Atrium Edit brings these ideas together, celebrating the people behind exceptional design while using creativity to help create meaningful change.
