Aegean Beauty: A Villa by Anna Mishina
PROJECTS 01.07.25
Set along the rugged coastline of southern Cyprus, this serene villa by Anna Mishina is a masterclass in restraint and refinement—an architectural response to its dramatic seafront setting. Drawing from the raw beauty of the Mediterranean, the home balances softness and strength, pairing bold materials with light-filled minimalism.

From the moment you arrive, the villa feels cocooned by nature. The entry path leads past native vegetation and limestone cliffs before revealing panoramic sea views. Mishina’s design leans into the surrounding terrain, integrating light stone, travertine floors, and glass to create a sense of seamlessness between the built environment and the wild coastline beyond.
"My choice of materials and color palette was inspired by the natural hues of Cyprus. Soft sandy tones, deep blue, and organic textures evoke the coastline of Protaras. The onyx, with its intricate patterns, reflects the fluid shapes of sea waves and rugged cliffs. The warm palette—combining golden metals, beige, and natural stone—mirrors the southern sun and the warm sands of the local beaches." Anna shared.
The outdoor spaces are designed for lingering. A spacious terrace hosts multiple zones for dining, lounging, and sunbathing, all anchored by a pristine pool and waterfall feature that mirror the rhythm of the sea below. Soft furnishings in tonal shades blend into the landscape, while natural textures—from rope-woven chairs to slatted ceiling fans—enhance the indoor-outdoor fluidity.

Inside, the villa reveals a more tactile and curated narrative. A living space defined by a striking onyx wall doubles as an entertainment hub, with an elegant fireplace stretching below a widescreen TV. Plush mustard swivel chairs and a deep navy sofa add warmth and personality, offsetting the otherwise pared-back palette.

In the kitchen, the central island, wrapped in matching onyx stone, becomes a showpiece, complemented by sleek black cabinetry and bronze accents. A sculptural brass chandelier floats above the dining table, its form echoing the fluid lines of the sea.

"I take great pride in the kitchen island — the focal point of the space, drawing attention with its striking onyx melone cladding.
After extensive research, I selected this exclusive stone to become the statement piece of the interior, adding depth and a touch of luxury." Anna added.
