A Jewel Box in the City

PROJECTS

Icon Apartment, designed by Róisín Lafferty, reimagines compact city living with a Parisian accent and a quietly glamorous mood. The brief was to create a refined pied à terre that channels the client’s style icon, Kate Moss, while keeping every square metre working hard. The result feels calm and layered, a small footprint that lives large and tells a personal story.

Function and beauty move together. Layouts were reworked so circulation feels effortless. Storage is hidden in clean lines and considered joinery. A secret TV unit disappears when not in use. Mirrors on ceilings and walls extend sightlines and light, turning tight corners into moments that feel generous rather than constrained.

The palette is understated. Soft tones and tactile finishes anchor each room, with bespoke carpentry setting the rhythm. The kitchen reads like a jewel box, compact yet precise, while the bedroom suite is composed for rest, with curated art and a glow that favours comfort over glare. These are spaces designed to evolve with time, not to chase trends.

Personality is present in the art and the details. Rare, limited edition photographs of Kate Moss inform the atmosphere, a thread that runs through the living areas and ties the concept back to the client. A custom Joseph Walsh table in Irish green marble adds a sculptural note and a local voice, balancing the Parisian cue with Irish craft.

The living area takes on a gallery like clarity for entertaining, then shifts easily into a private retreat. The effect is elegant, practical and personal, a city address that proves small spaces can carry real presence when the story is clear.
